John Piper September Exhibition – Catalogue Now Available
Thanks to over 200 people who were able to visit the exhibition at the Framers Gallery in Windmill Street. By an amazing coincidence, we discovered that the Curwen Press (now a ‘nail bar’!) had been located only a few doors away so Piper would have been very familiar with this street and area. The above image is of ‘Aberayron, South Wales’, an original mixed media work completed by Piper in 1954, and which is still available.
Thanks also to over 20 people who purchased a print or original artwork, the mounted panels of fabric proved especially popular though we have other copies available. The catalogue is available here (click here to view), and the price list is available here (price list click here), the following have already sold: 6/15/24/29/31/38/44/47/54/64/79/81.
The next show will be at Elmslie House in Malvern from 23rd November until 2nd December and will provide an opportunity to view and purchase the works of John Piper shown in London – and a few more!
This will be followed by an exhibition from 3rd-8th December in London, again at The Framers Gallery, and on the theme of ‘London in Post-War Art’. This will show 60 drawings, paintings and original prints by a wide range of artists active between the 1940s and 1970s, and which capture changing London.
