Description: made for for Regina in Gouda, the Netherlands the vase is black with pink, white and yellow enamel decoration and is in excellent condition. ‘Ruimte’ is Dutch for space.

Artist description:
A glass maker and designer, Floris Meydam was born in Leerdam in the Netherlands. He went through the trade school system as a glass maker, starting at Leerdam in 1935. In 1943, he became a trainee at the Leerdam Glass School where he was appointed teacher in 1944, joining the design department at the same time. He was chief designer at the Leerdam Glass Factory from 1949 until 1984 and created both table and ornamental ware for large scale production.
