One of a series of characterful etchings of girls originally created by Alistair Grant between 1954 and 1958. In 1989, they were re-editioned and printed from the original etching plates under Grant’s supervision at Studio Prints, London and released in editions of 25.
This is one of four signed artist’s proofs of the etchings we have available, all strong impressions and ready to frame, some minor handling marks to the limits of the wide border will disappear once framed.

Artist description:
Painter and printmaker, born in London of an English father and a French mother. Always known as Alistair Grant he studied at Birmingham School of Art, 1941-1943 and RCA, 1947-1951. His first solo exhibitions were at the Zwemmer Gallery, London, between 1965 and 1967. He also exhibited regularly at RA, London Group, RBA and elsewhere. His work is represented in V&A, Tate, BM, Boston Library, GAC, Wellington Art Gallery, New Zealand and Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery, Carlisle. Grant taught at the RCA for many years becoming a Professor in 1984 after having previously taught at art school including Sidcup and Hammersmith. His work was reproduced by publishers including Faber and Faber and the Folio Society.
