Clarke, Graham: Aspects of Old Bromley 7 – Steps

£95.00

The last in a series of 7 delightful woodcuts produced by Graham Clarke in the mid-1960s recording the changing face of Bromley in Kent. These are rare because very few sets exist but also as Clarke produced few woodcuts before taking up his trade mark etching. In excellent condition, signed and mounted ready for framing, we have a copy of each of the series.

Priced at £95 each, we would be pleased to accept £600 for the full set of 7.

Description

Artist description:

Graham Clarke was educated at Beckenham Art School and the Royal College of Art where he specialised in illustration and printmaking. With encouragement from Edward Bawden, Clarke began refining an individual approach, focusing on traditional landscapes and rural scenes. He benefited from the print boom of the 1960s, when commissions from Editions Alecto and London Transport helped to launch his career as a printmaker. He has been widely exhibited in Britain and abroad and examples of his work are held by Royal and public collections including the V and A, The British Museum and The Tate Gallery.
