Stevens, Harry: Sunflower Landscape – SOLD

An exquisite gouache and watercolour with pen and ink, the finest work we’ve seen by this under-appreciated artist who is better known for his poster designs. The painting is in excellent condition, it’s signed, dated ’48 and presented in its original frame as illustrated. It’s one of my favourite paintings in the entire collection and it’s hard to let it go!

The painting is likely to have been inspired by the landscape of either Anglesey or the Isle of Skye, both favourite locations for his work.

Artist: Harry Stevens, (1919-2008)

Title and date: Sunflower Landscape, 1948

Size: 20.5 x 30.0 cms.
