Artist description:

Werner Persy was a German painter and graphic artist who lived and worked in Trier. After graduating in 1942, he was drafted for military service with the Luftwaffe. From 1945 to 1951 he completed his studies at the Staatliche Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf and was a founding member of the Gesellschaft für Bildende Kunst in Trier. His drawings, prints and paintings are owned by public and private collections at home and abroad and he has had numerous solo exhibitions including in Trier, Saarbrücken, Mainz, Munich, Osnabrück, Bremen, Berlin, Oberhausen, Paderborn, Gladbeck, Jerusalem, Salzburg, Luxembourg, Giessen and Pirna. He also took part in joint exhibitions in Moscow and Podolsk (Russia), Bad Blankenburg and Daun.
