Moore, John: St Pauls’ Cathedral
£350.00
An interesting oil on board showing bomb damaged and other Thames-side warehouses providing a foreground to St Paul’s Cathedral under restoration. It is known that bomb damage to the roof and dome of the cathedral was repaired in the late 1960s, and which enables this painting to be dated.
This scene from London’s post-war history has changed completely with the subsequent demolition of the remaining warehouses and the construction of the Millennium Bridge.
The painting is signed but unframed
Artist: John Moore, (dates not known)
