 Artist description:

Born in Urbino, he studied at the Institute of Fine Arts then lived all his life in Pesaro. He became well known as an abstract artist and ‘painter of light’, his paintings and drawings representing urban, rural and coastal landscapes. As a member of the ‘Chameleon’ group of artists, he was one of the founders in 1963 of the ‘Gavardiana show of open-air art in Pesaro, a tradition which persists to the present day. He was also a prominent local politician becoming a provincial councillor and historic leader of Pesaro left.
