Allin Braund is recognised for a series of abstract lithographs he produced in the 1950s, many of which are based around the sea in its various moods. This striking limited edition lithograph is characteristic of the series, in excellent condition, signed, dated, inscribed, numbered 17 of only 30 copies and sympathetically framed.

Artist description:
A painter and printmaker, born in Northam, Devon, he studied at Bideford School of Art from 1932 to 1936 and at Hornsey College of Art from 1936 to 1939, where he later became a Senior Lecturer. World War II service saw him in action with the Royal Marines in Crete, Egypt and Ceylon. He exhibited at the RA, RE, Redfern Gallery, South London Art Gallery and Zwemmer Gallery, London. His work is represented in the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the collections of the ACGB, GAC and BC, Bideford Art Gallery, Devon, Leeds University and New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester. His lithographs were shown in the 1954 Venice Biennale alongside works by Henry Moore and Eduardo Paolozzi.
