Artist description:

Charles Bartlett is a painter and printmaker. He attended Eastbourne School of Art where he was an outstanding student. Following his time in the Guards Armoured Division during the war, he gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Art where he trained as a painter and etcher. Between 1960 and 1970, he taught printmaking at Harrow School of Art. His work, prints, oil and watercolour paintings, is mainly landscape, especially of the coast of East Anglia. He was president of the Royal Watercolour Society and has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy. Charles Bartlett works can be found in many public collections including at the V&A and the Arts Council. He lives in East Anglia where he continues to paint.
